According to the Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili, in April 2021, the employment rate in private companies increased by 9% compared to 2019.
"Up to 60 thousand companies have benefited from our business support programs. To demonstrate the success of these companies, I would like to offer you an analysis of their employment, on which we rely on the April data, and this is the last declared data we have.
The number of people employed in these companies in April 2019 was 575 000. There was a decrease during the pandemic, and in April 2020, this number decreased to 530 thousand. In April 2021, the number increased to 627 thousand people. Therefore, we have a further increase of 9% even after the pandemic, "Lasha Khutsishvili said.
