The National Statistics Office of Georgia conducts an annual survey on how many hours do the employees work by the sectors in Georgia.

According to official statistics, employees in 14 sectors out of 18 sectors of the economy, work more than 40 hours a week on a regular basis.

As of the statistics, those sectors include public service as well, where overtime totals to 6.9 hours per week on average, while the overtime amounts to 9.6 hours in the HORECA sector and the overtime amounts to 9 hours per week in the construction sector.

How Many Do Georgia People Work By Sectors?

1. Transport and warehousing - 50 hours per week, overtime totals to 10 hours;
2. Hotels and restaurants - 49.6 hours per week, overtime totals to 9.6 hours;
3. Construction - 49 hours per week, overtime totals to 9 hours;
4. Wholesale and retail trade; Repair of cars and motorcycles - 49 hours per week, overtime totals to 9 hours;
5. Activities of households as employers; Production of undifferentiated goods and services by households for their own consumption - 48.4 hours per week, overtime totals to 8.4 hours;
6. State governance and defense; Compulsory social security - 46.9 hours per week, overtime totals to 6.9 hours;
7. Administrative and support service activities - 45.5 hours per week, overtime totals to 5.5 hours;
8. Activities of extraterritorial organizations and bodies - 45.2 hours per week, overtime 5.2 hours;
9. Industry - 44.9 hours per week, overtime totals to 4.9 hours;
10. Real estate activities - 44.3 hours per week, overtime totals to 4.3 hours;
11. Other services - 44 hours per week, overtime totals to 4 hours;
12. Information and communication - 43.5 hours per week, overtime totals to 3.5 hours;
13. Health and social service activities - 43 hours per week, overtime totals to 3 hours;
14. Financial and insurance activities - 42.8 hours per week, overtime totals to 2.8 hours;
15. Professional, scientific and technical activities - 39.5 hours per week, overtime - 0 hours;
16. Art, Fun and Recreation - 38.8 hours per week, overtime - 0 hours;
17. Rural, forestry and fish farming - 33.4 hours per week, overtime - 0 hours;
18. Education - 30.6 hours per week, overtime - 0 hours.
