10 095 permissions granted were issued in 2021 (5.6% more compared to the previous year) for construction of buildings of 7 434.5 thousand square meters (42.8% more compared to the previous year). It should be noted that 74.4% of the total permits have been issued in 4 regions of the country, namely: 48.8% of the construction works located in Tbilisi, 9.2% -in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 8.5% - in Kvemo Kartli region, 7.9% - in Imereti region,- according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

As of the report, in 2021, permissions were issued for the construction of multifunctional residential complexes, hotels, trade facilities, industrial enterprises, agricultural objects and other buildings. The relatively large share of the permissions granted hold the multifunctional residential complexes. More than half of the total completed construction are distributed in 4 regions of the country, namely: 29.5% is located in Tbilisi, 12.3% - in Kakheti region, 11.7% – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region and 9.5% - in Kvemo Kartli region.

2 347 objects (10.0% more compared to the previous year) of 1 759.8 thousand square meters (3.9% more compared to the previous year) were completed in 2021.
