Tourism sector declares, that the Economy Minister already knows their demands. Maia Murachashvili, founder of Iberia Tours Plus declares that the sector needs further steps from the government to survive, as the grace period is already expired. According to her, number of measures must be taken in order to maintain companies’ viability.
"We demand increase of untaxed minimum, delay of tax liabilities for at least 1 year and subsidizing operating expenses, as company cannot survive without income. Tour company cannot recover without offices and zero income. Also hotels and guesthouses need help.
In addition, a lot of people are employed in tourism, who are now creditors of the banks. We demand the state to negotiate with banks individually in order to delay loans for 3 or 6 months, but without interest," - says Maia Murachashvili.
The government presented a $ 200 million package in May to fund the tourism and restaurant industry.
