The Communications Commission of Georgia submitted a new regulation, which bans automagical activation of new paid services and packages without customers’ consent. The new regulation will come into force from January 1, 2022.
“This regulation will solve the problem issue, when new paid services are automatically activated to the customers without their consent. A serious protest came from the subscribers related to the issue. As a result of the amendments, no company will be able to activate a new paid package without the customers’ demand," the Communications Commission said in a statement.
Another change has been made to the roaming service limits. In order not to face unexpected overspending due to roaming, companies will be required to approve the roaming limit with the customer in advance. When the roaming limit ends up, the service will be restricted.
