A few hours ago, Demna Devdariani, a Georgian journalist working in the United States, posted on the social network, that Irakli Gharibashvili’s scheduled visit to Washington was failed. Georgian Prime Minister was to meet with diplomats and congressmen of the State Department.

Devdariani names the zero interest of the congressmen in the meeting with Irakli Gharibashvili as the reason.

"Congressman Kinsinger was one of those who refused to meet with Gharibashvili," Devdariani wrote.

According to the press service of the Governmental Administration, the Prime Minister's visit to the United States has not been scheduled and it is complete speculation to allege that the Prime Minister's visit to the United States was thwarted.

"We want to clarify that the visit of the Prime Minister to the United States has not been scheduled. The information disseminated by individuals is false and deliberate misinformation. Information about the Prime Minister's visits is spread by the press service in advance. In this case, no visit was scheduled, therefore, it is complete speculation to allege that the Prime Minister's visit to the United States was thwarted,"- reads the statement issued by the Government’s press service.
