The State Audit Office will carry out audits of the issues as a part of the government's anti-crisis plan. The office published a statement today. Also, as it turns out, the audit of expenditures for emergency funding is the subject of negotiations between Georgia and the EU. The country will receive 15 million euros in funding from the EU immediately after the audit.

The Audit Office notes that the object of their study will be the government's expenses during the epidemic in the country, including the costs of setting up health and quarantine zones, as well as measures taken to promote the economy.

Within the framework of this agreement, the state auditors will study the effectiveness of the measures implemented by the Government of Georgia and their compliance with the legislation, in particular:

Purchasing Compliance Audit for Pandemic Response Measures in the Healthcare System - The purpose of the audit is to examine the issues of goods and services (medical equipment and services) purchased by the healthcare system in response to the pandemic in 2020;

Quarantine Management Effectiveness Audit - The subject of the audit study will be the issue of hotel management;

Audit of the effectiveness of SME promotion measures - The pandemic has had a negative impact. "The purpose of the audit is to examine the measures taken to mitigate this impact," the agency said in a statement.

One of the most cost-effective measures against the pandemic during 2020 was the quarantine management program. In recent months, both the tourism administration and other government agencies have spent up to $ 120 million on renting quarantine hotels.
