The Government of Georgia has sent the second submission document to the Parliament for the 2021 budget. However, the mentioned document is identical to the first submission document, and none of the figures in it has been changed.
According to the explanation of the budget, the card says that the reason for presenting the budget unchanged is the parliamentary elections:
"Before the official submission of the draft law to the Parliament of Georgia, the Georgian legislature's active involvement in the process of elaboration of the above-mentioned measures and the draft state budget of Georgia for 2021 is crucial. Therefore, considering that the final results of the parliamentary elections (including the second round) will not be announced up until the budget submission deadline (November 5), the Government of Georgia will present the draft budget law for the second submission with the same version as it was implemented during the first submission.
"The Government of Georgia continues to work with the spending agencies on the final version of the draft budget and will actively cooperate with the newly elected Parliament to submit the final version of the draft state budget for 2021 to the Georgian legislature within the legal deadline (November 30)," - says the document.
