The number of foreign students in Georgian higher education institutions amounted to 13.3 thousand, which is 8.9 percent higher compared to the previous year.
According to Geostat, including 8 898 students are studying in the state universities, while 4 429 – private institutes.
At the beginning of 2019/2020 academic year, 656 students had been sent abroad for study, which is less by 17 students compared to the previous year.
The number of students sent from public universities is almost 2.9 times higher than the number of students sent from private universities.
