The State Insurance Supervision Agency published a report. According to the document, health insurance attracted the largest amount of premiums and the figure almost made up 534 million GEL. Last year, health insurance accounted for 42% of the market. The volume of attracted premiums has increased by 19% in the sector compared to 2023.
Followed by vehicle insurance (auto insurance) with 256.3 million GEL, with an annual growth of 25%. Transport insurance occupies 20% of the market. Property insurance occupies third place with 132.3 million GEL of premiums attracted, an annual growth of 5%. Property insurance occupies approximately 10% of the market.
Last year, compensated losses increased by 24% to 760 million GEL. As for companies, GPI is in the lead with 122 million GEL, followed by BB Insurance with 115 million GEL, and TBC Insurance is in third place with 97 million GEL.
According to a report published by the agency, 20% of the Georgian population benefits from private health insurance.
