As part of its fight against economic crimes, the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has uncovered a case of illegal drug sales conducted through social media. The operation revealed activities conducted without proper state registration, tax accounting, or the required license.

The investigation was initiated after receiving intelligence about the advertising and sale of medications via the Instagram page "pharm_Online_24." Officers from the department made contact with the page owner, placing an order for the drug "OZEMPIC 0.5 mg." A purchase of six units was made, totaling approximately $1,550.

As a result of the operational search measures, it was determined that the seller was a citizen, H.J., who lacked state registration and was not listed with the tax authorities. He was also found to possess other pharmaceutical products, which he claimed were for personal use.

In another case, it was revealed that since April 2024, citizen V.G. had been selling drugs from his personal vehicle without proper registration. During a search of his car, 64 packages of various medications were discovered.

All seized medications were sent for examination by the Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia. According to the law "On Pharmaceuticals," retail drug sales are only permitted in licensed pharmacies.

The State Revenue Committee urges Armenian citizens to refrain from purchasing medications of questionable origin through social media, as they may pose health risks.
