Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songulashvili, convened with Leslie Bearman Lahm, the Director and Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank in Georgia.
During the meeting, both parties deliberated on ongoing projects and explored avenues for future collaboration.
Minister Songhulashvili expressed his gratitude to the Asian Development Bank for its years of fruitful cooperation. The discussion prominently featured the rehabilitation of the Kvemo Samgori Left Main Canal, a key component of the ongoing Climate-Smart Irrigation Sector Development Program, underscoring its significance.
As the Minister emphasized, land reclamation is a vital aspect of enhancing agricultural productivity, making it a priority for the Ministry. He stressed that, in executing any project, not only is the quality of work paramount, but strict adherence to project timelines is also essential.
Leslie Bearman Lahm noted that the Asian Development Bank is eager to initiate new projects, rooted in their extensive history of effective collaboration in both agriculture and environmental protection.
The meeting also included the participation of First Deputy Minister Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Minister Lasha Dolidze, and heads of relevant departments.
