Georgian Civil Aviation Agency says air traffic has increased by 69% in 2022 compared to 2021.
A total of 147 253 flights were fulfilled last year, while the flight number stood at 87 314 in Georgia in 2021 and in 2019 – 140 972.
According to Sakaeronavigatia, air traffic increase is related to the easing of the Covid-19 regulation in addition to the Russia-Ukraine war. In particular, the increase may be due to several reasons: easing of Covid-regulations in several countries, the conflict in Ukraine and the regrouping of air flows due to the closure of Russian airspace.
