Georgia’s Municipal Development Fund is launching the design phase for the rehabilitation of Akhaltsikhe’s Central Park. On January 20, the Fund signed a GEL 413,000 contract with Architectural Workshop Ltd. to prepare the full project for the 3.4-hectare park.
According to the Fund, the renewed park will become a modern, multifunctional recreational space aimed at creating a comfortable environment for residents and visitors. The design includes children’s and sports areas, cultural and educational zones, open sports courts, workout spaces, and networks of pedestrian and bicycle paths.
The project also provides information and commercial pavilions, an open-air stage, pergolas, fountains, and upgraded infrastructure such as lighting, water supply, CCTV, and safety systems.
Five companies took part in the design tender. The contractor has six months to complete the project, after which a construction tender will be announced. The final cost of building the new park is not yet known.
