The Roads Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has announced a tender for the rehabilitation of a 5.3-kilometer section of the Lemshveniera-Davit Gareji road, a road of national importance, as well as a 0.9-kilometer access road to the Natlismtsemeli Monastery in Gareji.
The rehabilitation works will cover the section between kilometers 14 and 18 of the Lemshveniera-Davit Gareji road and the 0.9-kilometer access road to the monastery. The project is located in the Sagarejo Municipality.
According to the Roads Department, the existing road has only a gravel surface, making traffic difficult during periods of precipitation.
The project envisages the full rehabilitation of the road, including restoration of the carriageway and installation of an asphalt-concrete surface, rehabilitation of existing artificial structures and construction of new ones.
The works will also include the construction of access connections and culverts, installation of road signs and road markings.
The project will be financed entirely from the state budget.
