Against the backdrop of border delimitation, the deputy prime ministers of both countries held separate talks on regional communications.
According to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on November 1, 2024, the tenth meeting of the interstate commissions on border delimitation and border security was held at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, chaired by Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged notifications on the completion of domestic procedures necessary for the enactment of the Regulations on the Joint Activities of the Commissions, signed on August 30, 2024. As per Article 7 of the document, the Regulations officially took effect on November 1, 2024.
The delegations discussed the sequence of border sections to undergo delimitation work and reviewed draft guiding principles for their implementation. The sides agreed to arrange the date and location of the next meeting through working channels.
Following the official part of the commissions’ meeting, Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev held separate talks focused on transportation links between the two countries.
