Armenia and Kyrgyzstan Aim to Boost Trade in Energy, Tourism, and IT

Trade turnover between Armenia and Kyrgyzstan has shown a 14-fold increase over the past four years, with the two countries planning to expand cooperation in new economic sectors.

During a meeting in Yerevan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev discussed prospects for strengthening trade and economic ties. According to statistics, the volume of bilateral trade grew from $2.1 million in 2020 to $29.5 million in 2023. In the first ten months of 2024, trade turnover reached $12 million.

The ministers identified key areas for trade development, including energy, tourism, agriculture, and IT. Mirzoyan presented Armenia's government-backed "Crossroads of Peace" program, aimed at integrating the country into international logistics networks.

During the meeting, the parties signed a cooperation plan for 2025-2026 and an agreement on collaboration between the diplomatic academies of the two countries. Both sides emphasized that membership in the Eurasian Economic Union offers additional opportunities to deepen trade relations.
