On Tuesday, June 18, the head of the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia Mihran Khachatryan, met with the EU Ambassador to Yerevan Vassilis Maragos. The main topic of discussion was aviation safety.

This was reported by the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Vassilis Maragos, on his microblog on the "X" platform.

"A fruitful exchange of views took place with Captain Khachatryan, head of the Civil Aviation Committee. We discussed current and future support for aviation safety, aimed at ensuring resilience and connectivity," the ambassador noted in his post.

Earlier, Yerevan announced significant efforts to exit the EU's aviation "blacklist." This would allow airlines registered in Armenia to fly to EU countries.

In June 2020, Armenian aviation was placed on the EU's aviation "blacklist," banning all Armenian carriers from entering EU airspace.
