Armenia and the World Bank Discussed Cooperation Programs in the Water, Energy, and Social Sectors

From July 10 to 12, Deputy Minister of Finance of Armenia, Eduard Akopyan, participated in a meeting of the associated group of boards of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) in Chisinau, Moldova.

As the Deputy Governor of Armenia in the IMF and WB Boards of Governors, Akopyan represented Armenia at the event, covering the priorities and policy programs of these institutions.

The theme of this year's meeting was focused on ensuring sustainable growth in unstable conditions. The panel discussions included topics on strategies for mobilizing private capital, innovations, and the potential of artificial intelligence.

During the event, Akopyan held a meeting with Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia. They discussed cooperation programs in the water, energy, and social sectors, as well as budget support.

A separate meeting was also held with Jasper Wesseling, Chief Treasurer of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands, where they discussed the implementation of current experience exchange programs and prospects for further cooperation between the finance ministries of the two countries.
