Armenia plans to establish joint educational platforms with Uruguay in the field of high technology, with a special focus on developing startups, agrotech, and artificial intelligence. This was announced during a meeting between representatives of the two countries in Yerevan on December 10.
Armenia’s Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry, Gevorg Mantashyan, held talks with a Uruguayan delegation led by Aldo Rodríguez, Head of the Language Policy Department at Uruguay's National Public Education Administration (ANEP), and Javier Poladian, Director of the Nubarian College of the Armenian General Benevolent Union.
During the meeting, the Armenian side presented its leading technological initiatives, including the Plug and Play acceleration program for startups, the ArMath engineering lab network, the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, and the COAF SMART Center. These projects were highlighted as potential foundations for fostering educational and technological collaboration between the two nations.
The parties outlined specific areas of cooperation, such as creating joint working platforms for tech companies, sharing expertise in digitalization and innovation, and developing programs in artificial intelligence and agrotech. Particular emphasis was placed on combining the educational resources of both countries to train specialists in high-tech fields.
