The Committee for Higher Education and Science of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, in collaboration with the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, has announced an international competition for scientific projects.
According to the press service of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, this initiative has been made possible by a science and technology cooperation program signed between the two organizations in 2023.
The primary goal of the competition is to support the development of scientific research in various fields, including natural sciences, engineering and technology, medical and agricultural sciences, as well as social and humanities disciplines. Special emphasis will be placed on Armenology and Kartvelian studies.
The competition aims to increase the mobility of scientists and strengthen scientific ties between the two countries. Research teams from Armenia and Georgia will be able to jointly prepare projects and submit applications to the relevant bodies in their respective countries.
The selection process will follow the established procedures of each side. The evaluation of applications will be conducted by both Armenian and Georgian experts.
Detailed information about the competition, including participation conditions and submission deadlines, will be published on the official websites of the Committee for Higher Education and Science of Armenia and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
BMG notes that in recent times, contacts between Armenia and Georgia in the fields of science and education have significantly increased. In March of this year, the Center for Kartvelian Studies was inaugurated at Yerevan State University, with the participation of the Ministers of Education of Armenia and Georgia, Zhanna Andreasyan and Giorgi Amilakhvari.
