Starting from September of this year, a joint Armenian-Georgian master's scholarship program will be launched, giving students from both countries the opportunity to study at universities in Armenia and Georgia.
This was announced by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan, during a briefing held jointly with her Georgian counterpart Giorgi Amilakhvari, after the opening of the Georgian Studies Center at Yerevan State University on March 25.
Andreasyan stated that there is great potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of education, and highlighted the successful experience in developing a joint master's scholarship program, as reported by the Ministry's press service.
"Starting from September, a joint master's scholarship program will be launched, which will give students from both countries the opportunity to study at universities in Armenia and Georgia. For this purpose, 10 scholarship places have been allocated," said the Armenian minister, emphasizing the importance of exchanging experience in the field of education, as both countries are undergoing intensive educational reforms.
In turn, the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia Giorgi Amilakhvari, who arrived in Yerevan as part of a government delegation led by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, noted that the Georgian side is interested in expanding cooperation with Armenia in the fields of general education, higher education, science, and youth policy.
Amilakhvari stated that the Georgian government is fully prepared to support the Georgian Studies Center in Yerevan with materials and professional potential.
"The same applies to the Armenian Studies Center at Tbilisi University," the Georgian minister added.
