The international MICE forum (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) has begun in Yerevan, focusing on the development of business tourism in the country.
Armenia aims to build the necessary infrastructure for hosting large-scale international conferences and exhibitions, stated Lusine Gevorgyan, Chair of the Tourism Committee.
According to Gevorgyan, the country has significant potential in this area. As per the 2024 Numbeo Safety Index, Armenia ranks 8th out of 146 countries globally for safety. Coupled with its unique natural landscapes, rich cultural and historical heritage, and centuries-old winemaking traditions, Armenia offers an attractive setting for international events.
"We are proud of our high safety ranking. Now, we need to develop a concrete action plan to position Armenia as a sought-after venue for hosting international forums," Gevorgyan emphasized.
The forum, organized by the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy, will run until November 29, bringing together experts from Serbia, Georgia, Greece, Jordan, and representatives of Armenia's tourism sector. Participants will discuss business tourism development, share experiences, and explore emerging trends.
