Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a statement at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Yerevan on October 1, highlighting the need to revise and improve the Eurasian Economic Union's (EAEU) trade agreements with third countries.
Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia places high importance on negotiations for free trade agreements with countries interested in mutually beneficial cooperation. He proposed conducting a thorough analysis of existing trade agreements to identify shortcomings and determine ways to enhance them.
The Armenian Prime Minister also advocated for introducing new provisions in trade agreements to increase trade volumes. He called for establishing clear criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of cooperation, including trade levels, investment flows, and infrastructure development.
According to Pashinyan, regular monitoring and assessment of cooperation will allow for timely adjustments to strategies and agreements, ensuring reliable and sustainable development of the EAEU's trade relations with its partners.
