At the expanded meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in Yerevan on October 1, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of establishing a unified energy market within the Union.
"The unresolved issues surrounding the creation of a unified energy market within the EAEU significantly slow down the economic growth of our states, which could be much higher than it is now," Pashinyan noted in his speech.
The Armenian Prime Minister stressed that resolving this issue could be a key factor in accelerating the economic development of the EAEU member states.
It was previously reported that the formation of unified energy markets is a key objective for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Initially, specific deadlines were set for the creation of common markets for electricity, oil, and gas within the EAEU.
However, challenges have arisen in meeting these deadlines, causing concern among the Union's leadership. Despite these difficulties, the EAEU remains committed to the idea of a unified energy market, considering it an integral part of economic integration.
