Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the formation of a common market for energy resources within the EAEU.
"The process of forming a common market with unified regulation systems in the field of energy resources has significantly dragged on. The Armenian side is understanding towards the possible revision of the deadlines for uncompleted activities, but believes that this process cannot last indefinitely and should be implemented within reasonable time frames," Pashinyan said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow on May 8.
According to Pashinyan, the Armenian leadership has repeatedly stated that Armenia is ready for constructive dialogue to achieve consensus on unresolved issues and the timely functioning of the EAEU's common electricity market.
Several years ago, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia agreed to create a single market for electricity, oil, gas, and petroleum products in the territory of the EAEU from 2025. However, concrete steps towards its formation have not yet been taken.
