The Armenian Tourism Committee plans to intensify efforts to attract tourists in 2025, despite a slight decline in tourist flow in 2024. According to the committee's forecasts, the number of tourists visiting the country by the end of the year will exceed 2 million, slightly below the 2.3 million recorded in 2023.

Speaking to Armenpress, Chairwoman of the Tourism Committee Lusine Gevorgyan noted that the decline in tourist numbers is linked to various geopolitical and domestic political factors. However, compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019, considered a benchmark for tourism activity, there has been a 15% increase.

Next year, the committee plans to focus on attracting tourists from Iran and European countries. Special emphasis will be placed on developing adventure, rural, and ecological tourism, which, according to statistics, are the most popular among European travelers. To promote the country’s tourism potential, the committee plans to participate in international exhibitions featuring Armenian wine tastings, national cuisine presentations, displays of traditional costumes, and performances of folk songs and dances.

An important factor for attracting European tourists will be the availability of direct flights between Armenia and European countries. The committee also intends to enhance efforts to attract Russian tourists by developing new tourism products and programs.
