The STEP.ai program for artificial intelligence education will be implemented in public and vocational schools across Armenia. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on October 9 at the Synopsys Armenia company.

The curriculum was developed by experts from the U.S.-based Synopsys and reviewed by Armenian-American specialists. For the past three years, the course has been piloted in six schools, and now there are plans to expand it to more schools across the country.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the importance of active private sector involvement in the technological field. She noted that many experimental programs in the education system are the result of developments and collaboration with the private sector, according to Armenpress.

"The application of artificial intelligence in education has many specific features, and the current pilot programs allow us to understand where improvements and additional efforts are needed before fully integrating this program into the entire system," Andreasyan said.

Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan praised Synopsys Armenia not only for its significant presence in the tech sector but also for its contribution to improving the quality of education.

"This is one of the brightest examples of the government working very closely and harmoniously with its private sector partners in our shared vision and understanding of technological development," Hayrapetyan emphasized.

As part of the event, there was also a presentation of graduation projects and a certificate award ceremony for high school students who completed the first STEP.ai course on artificial intelligence.
