The state policy of the Armenian government in recent years has been aimed at continuous growth in state funding for the field of science. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, at the opening of the 'Science' exhibition organized by the Armenian Academy of Sciences.
According to the minister, the state policy of the Armenian government in recent years has been focused on continuous growth in state funding for the field of science. 'Various programs are being implemented, which result in an increase in the number of scientists and researchers, with a large number of young people involved. This means that we are on the right track. A Science Development Strategy will be developed,' she explained.
She also expressed hope that based on this work, the government will be able to correctly define the goals and objectives that will contribute to the development of the field of science and ensure higher achievements.
BMG reminds that since 2018, according to the Armenian government, funding for science in Armenia has increased more than threefold. In 2023, funding for the field of science (including military industry) amounted to about 36 billion drams (approximately $90 million).
