The Georgian government has increased funding for regional projects in five municipalities by GEL 12.9 million, bringing their combined allocation from the Regional Projects Fund to GEL 94.2 million.
Under Government Resolution No. 2202, funding was increased for Poti and Kutaisi, while allocations for Rustavi, Zugdidi and Khashuri remained unchanged. Poti’s allocation rose by GEL 2.9 million to GEL 17.1 million.
According to the updated plan, Poti will receive additional funding for road infrastructure and improvements to the courtyard of a youth hub. A GEL 3.3 million project was also added for purchasing specialized equipment and municipal transport, along with GEL 358,180 for infrastructure works related to the European and African Water Ski Conference Open Championship scheduled for July 24–26, 2026.
Kutaisi’s funding increased by GEL 10 million to GEL 20.8 million. The additional funds will support homeowners’ associations, replacement of worn-out elevators, and construction and rehabilitation of administrative, educational and sports facilities. The project list also includes the purchase of M2 and M3-category buses, for which GEL 10 million has been allocated.
