Armenia is preparing to build three stadiums for hosting the FIFA Youth World Cup in 2029. During the government meeting on June 6, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced plans to construct these stadiums to prepare for the event, pending FIFA approval of the joint bid from Armenia and Georgia.

According to Pashinyan, Armenia and Georgia will jointly submit the bid to host the tournament.

"We agreed on a joint bid last year in Batumi. I'm glad the process is going smoothly. By 2029, we need to build three stadiums in the country that meet the standards of the World Cup. One of them should accommodate up to 35,000 spectators, while the other two should hold no fewer than 10,000," said Pashinyan.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan noted that discussions are underway regarding the construction of such stadiums in Vanadzor and Ijevan.

"We are also considering options for the reconstruction of the existing stadium in Vanadzor and the use of the former stadium site in Ijevan. Additionally, plans are in place to build a large stadium within the framework of the Academic City, with construction expected to be completed by 2029," Andreasyan added.
