Armenia is working on a Strategy for scientific and technological development

Under the chairmanship of Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the first meeting of the Council for science and technology development of Armenia was held on March 4, during which the draft Strategy for the country's scientific and technological development was presented.

According to the press service of the Government of Armenia, the Council, created with the aim of formulating the strategy, brought together representatives of the public sector and leaders of well-known companies such as "Synopsys Armenia," "IntelinAir," "SADA Systems," "Strategic Value Ventures," "BIGcontrols," "Project Integration," and others.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the council's format and thanked those present for their participation in its work. Pashinyan underscored the role of science and the technological sector in overcoming the country's economic challenges and confirmed that the council's task is to ensure broad participation of industry representatives in the development of strategies.

Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly and member of the Council, Akop Arshakyan, presented the main directions of the strategy, which include artificial intelligence, microelectronics, advanced robotics, quantum technologies, and biotechnology. Arshakyan also highlighted the importance of developing laboratory potential and allocating funds for capital investments.

During the discussion of ideas and mechanisms for solving tasks, the Prime Minister urged the working groups of the council to conduct an audit of the country's policies in the specified directions and to identify ways to increase the efficiency of investments.
