On Thursday, September 26, the Armenian government approved the draft state budget for 2025. The document outlines a significant increase in both revenues and expenditures for the country.
According to the draft, the budget revenues will amount to 2.873 trillion drams (approximately $7.37 billion), with the majority—2.759 trillion drams ($7.08 billion)—coming from tax revenues.
The expenditure side of the budget is planned at 3.482 trillion drams ($8.93 billion). Of this amount, 2.749 trillion drams ($7.05 billion) will be allocated for current expenses, while 733.2 billion drams ($1.88 billion) will go toward capital investments.
Particular emphasis in the budget is placed on capital expenditures, which have been significantly increased to strengthen Armenia's economic and defense infrastructure.
The projected budget deficit is 609.4 billion drams ($1.56 billion).
Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan announced the economic forecasts for 2025, with GDP growth expected at 5.6%, a GDP deflator of 3.5%, and an average inflation rate also at 3.5%.
