Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said Georgia is expected to record the highest average economic growth rate in Europe through 2031, citing International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts.
Speaking on Imedi LIVE, Kobakhidze stated that the IMF projects Georgia's economy to expand by an average of 5.4% annually through 2031, describing the outlook as a significant achievement. He noted that maintaining economic growth above 5% over the long term is a challenging task for any country.
"The IMF forecasts that Georgia will have an average economic growth rate of 5.4% through 2031, which is the highest in Europe. Maintaining such a pace over the long run is already a very serious result," the prime minister said.
Kobakhidze also argued that Georgia has consistently outperformed IMF forecasts in previous years and expressed confidence that the country would continue to exceed the Fund's projections in the years ahead.
