Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan met with the Ambassador of Japan Yutaka Aoki, and proposed to expand the relations between the countries.
According to the Ministry's press service, Papoyan emphasized the importance of effective cooperation between the two countries and suggested that the Japanese side consider opportunities for expanding relations, especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and water resource management.
The Minister also expressed hope for prospective collaboration in infrastructure construction and the establishment of an "Academic Town."
In turn, the Ambassador emphasized Japan's interest in Armenian agricultural products, culture, and history.
Also discussed was Armenia's participation in the World Expo "EXPO-2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan."
BMG reminds that in 2023, the trade and economic relations between Armenia and Japan noticeably intensified. The trade turnover between the countries increased from $200 million in 2022 to $348 million last year, implying a growth of 75%.
