The Armenian Prime Minister’s Office plans to conduct several major international events to promote the "Crossroads of Peace" project. Araik Harutyunyan, Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced this during the 2025 state budget discussions in the National Assembly on October 30.
According to Armenpress, a large regional meeting of representatives from various analytical centers is scheduled to take place in Armenia at the end of this year or early next year. Although the primary focus of the event will not be the "Crossroads of Peace" project, this initiative will also be part of the discussions.
An upcoming visit of Iranian partners to Armenia is also expected, where discussions on the "Crossroads of Peace" project will be included.
Harutyunyan mentioned a planned visit of Turkish media representatives to Armenia, where they will receive a presentation on the "Crossroads of Peace" project.
The "Crossroads of Peace" project envisions Armenia as a transit corridor facilitating the flow of transportation, cargo, passengers, as well as energy and telecommunication networks through its territory. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasizes that this route would become the shortest connection between the Black Sea and the Persian Gulf, crossing through Iran, Armenia, and Georgia.
The route also provides the shortest link between the Caspian and Marmara seas, connecting Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey.
The project also envisions a transportation connection between Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan exclave. To facilitate this, Armenia has proposed mechanisms for streamlined customs and border control, along with additional security measures. This plan, grounded in mutual respect for sovereignty and jurisdiction of the participating countries, has the potential to become a significant pillar for stable economic and transportation development across the region.
