Armenia, along with other EAEU member states, will participate in a pilot project to implement electronic international waybills (e-CMR). The announcement was made during the annual "Transport of Russia" event, held in Moscow from November 19 to 21.
The Armenian delegation at the forum was led by Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Armen Simonyan. The event included the 8th meeting of the EAEU Transport Ministers' Council and the 44th meeting of the CIS Transport Coordination Council.
At the EAEU Council meeting, proposals from member states on developing a unified transport market were approved. Particular attention was given to launching the e-CMR pilot project, which aims to digitalize freight transportation across the union's member countries. Delegates also discussed the importance of implementing the roadmap for 2024-2025.
Speaking at the plenary session titled "CIS+ Transport Cooperation: Connectivity, Sustainability, Efficiency," Armen Simonyan presented Armenia's ongoing transport initiatives, including the "Crossroads of the World" project.
During the CIS Transport Coordination Council meeting, the results of the year’s work were reviewed, an updated organizational regulation was discussed, and several employees were recognized with certificates of honor and letters of appreciation.
The Deputy Minister also participated in the plenary session "Effective Transport System: Key Elements," which featured Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
