The Statistical Committee of Armenia has published data on brandy production in the country, showing impressive growth in the industry over recent years.

In the first half of 2024, Armenia produced 9.3 million liters of brandy (converted to 100% alcohol), marking a 14.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth trend has been continuing for several consecutive years.

Over the past 16 years, Armenian brandy production has gone from crisis levels to record volumes:

  • In 2008, amid the global financial crisis, 15.9 million liters were produced.
  • By 2013, production had increased to 20.2 million liters.
  • In 2021, a record 46.6 million liters were produced, a 19.2% increase over the previous year.
  • Notably, even in the challenging year of 2020, despite the global pandemic, production reached 39.1 million liters.

Despite a change in the measurement unit for production volumes in 2022, making direct comparison with previous years difficult, the growth trend continues. In 2023, 19.3 million liters of brandy were produced (converted to 100% alcohol).
