On Wednesday, June 19, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with General Fabien Mandon, military advisor to the President of France and head of the military office.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of cooperation and prospective defense programs between Armenia and France.
The Defense Minister outlined the ongoing reforms of the Armenian Armed Forces and acknowledged France's support in these efforts.
They also addressed issues of regional and international security.
Previously, BMG reported that during Suren Papikyan's visit to France on June 17, Yerevan and Paris signed an agreement for Armenia to purchase French CAESAR self-propelled artillery systems.
At the end of 2023, it was announced that France would supply Armenia with 50 Bastion armored vehicles (24 of which have already arrived in the country, with the rest in production) and would consider providing CAESAR artillery systems and MISTRAL 3 missile systems.
