On Monday, June 17, Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan discussed ongoing educational reforms in the country with a high-level delegation from the World Bank.
Zhanna Andreasyan welcomed the guests and emphasized the crucial role of the World Bank in implementing educational reforms in Armenia through its local office.
Special attention was given to the development of human capital, which is a priority for the World Bank. In this context, Armenia is seen as a key partner. The World Bank representatives highlighted the value of Armenia's efforts and noted the impressive results achieved through the cooperation.
During the meeting, a preliminary version of the report on public finances in the education sector, prepared by the World Bank team, was presented. Minister Andreasyan acknowledged the importance of the extensive work and regular reports by the World Bank, which play a significant role in external assessment and contribute to more effective implementation of reforms.
The parties also discussed the importance of continuous dialogue to strengthen the research base for educational reforms. Further cooperation prospects and other issues of mutual interest were identified and discussed.
