Managers recorded the highest average monthly nominal salary among employees by occupational category in 2025, at GEL 3,609, while unskilled workers had the lowest, at GEL 1,132, according to Geostat.
The indicator is calculated once every five years. Compared with 2021, managers’ average nominal salaries increased by 49%. Men earned more than women across all occupational categories. Among managers, the average salary was GEL 2,713 for women and GEL 4,312 for men.
Employers’ average annual expenditure per employee reached GEL 26,671 in 2025, with wages accounting for 97.4% and other costs, including social security and staff training, making up the remaining 2.6%.
By economic activity, annual expenditure per employee was highest in financial and insurance activities, at GEL 51,494, and lowest in other service activities, at GEL 14,537.
Average annual labour costs in the public sector were 17.7% lower than in the private sector, amounting to GEL 23,329 and GEL 28,353, respectively.
