In October 2024, the average salary in Armenia stood at $691, reflecting a 4.3% increase compared to October 2023 but a 1% decline from September 2024.
According to the Statistical Committee, the information and communications sector led in terms of wages, with an average salary of $2,065, despite a 1.1% year-over-year decrease. The finance and insurance sector, with an average salary of $1,676, experienced a significant risk, showing a monthly drop of 17.2%.
The mining industry maintained strong growth, offering an average of $1,249 per month, up 5% year-over-year and 4.4% compared to September. In public administration and defense, salaries averaged $901 but declined by 4.5% from October 2023.
The energy sector, encompassing electricity, gas, and steam supply, emerged as a leader in salary growth, with wages rising to $853 - a 24.1% annual increase and a notable 22.2% monthly rise. Similarly, the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector displayed positive dynamics, with wages reaching $849, marking a 13.1% increase year-over-year.
In agriculture, the average salary was $481, showing steady annual growth of 13.8%. Meanwhile, the food service and accommodation sector recorded the lowest average salary of $367, though it experienced a 9.5% year-over-year increase.
Previously, BMG reported a significant rise in Armenia's official employment numbers. As of October 2024, the number of registered employees reached 785,195, a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
