Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Operating Costs Increased To USD 70.5 MLN

"Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan" operating costs have increased. According to BP data, in the first half of 2024, USD 70.5 million was spent on the pipeline operation, while in the same period of 2023, the operating cost stood at USD 59 million. In addition, the capital costs of the oil pipeline between January and June 2024 amounted to USD 17.7 million.

In the first half of 2024, over 110 million barrels (14 million tons) of crude oil with 150 tankers were transshipped through the Ceyhan Port.

The BTC pipeline carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shahdeniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, it provides transportation of other volumes of Caspian regional crude oil and condensate (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, non-ACG volumes of SOCAR).

The shareholders of "Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan" are bp (30.1%), SOCAR (25.00%), MOL (8.90%), Equinor (8.71%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5.00%), TotalEnergies (5.00%) ), ITOCHU (3.40%), INPEX (2.50%), ExxonMobil (2.50%) and ONGCVidesh (2.36%).
