Kazakhstan increased oil shipments through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline by 24% in the first nine months of 2026.
According to KazTransOil, oil transported through the BTC pipeline reached 1.164 million tonnes in January–September 2026.
The company said the volume represents part of the oil loaded onto tankers at the Port of Aktau. Over the nine-month period, 2.608 million tonnes of oil were loaded at the port using KazTransOil’s facilities, marking a 7% year-on-year increase. Nearly half of this volume was redirected through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan route.
Some Kazakh oil was also transported through the Batumi Oil Terminal. A total of 1.417 million tonnes of oil, petroleum products and gas were shipped by sea, matching the volume recorded in the first nine months of 2025.
