Banks Must Submit Gender-Based Deposit Disclosures to the NBG

ბანკები

Under a new directive issued by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), commercial banks will be required to expand their Pillar 3 disclosures to include gender-disaggregated statistics on deposits. The updated rules mandate that banks present deposit data broken down by sex, including figures for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the revised standards, banks must publish information on both the volume of existing deposits and the types of depositors, categorized by gender. This data will be disclosed through a dedicated reporting format and will appear in quarterly and annual Pillar 3 reports, as well as in Georgia’s official banking statistics.

The NBG states that introducing gender-specific transparency aims to improve visibility into the financial sector and provide a clearer understanding of the economic activity of women entrepreneurs.

These new reporting obligations become mandatory for all commercial banks in accordance with the procedures established by the National Bank.
