Batumi International Airport handled 1,098,027 passengers in January–September 2026, a 10% increase from 995,101 during the same period last year, according to airport operator TAV Georgia. Flight numbers also rose by 10% year-on-year.
Growth was particularly strong during the summer season, from June through September, when passenger traffic increased by 27%. The airport’s busiest day was August 13, when it served 11,005 passengers in 24 hours.
In 2026, Batumi Airport added 11 new routes and eight airlines, including FlyArystan, FlyOne and OneClick Airways. Georgian Airways also resumed regular flights between Tbilisi and Batumi. A total of 30 airlines currently operate flights on 40 routes from the airport.
TAV Georgia said Batumi was named Europe’s Leading All-Season Tourist Destination by the World Travel Awards for the fourth time. The company, which has managed Aleksandre Kartveli Batumi International Airport for more than 20 years, said the recognition highlights the city’s growing appeal throughout the year.
