Nikoloz Khundzakishvili, Corporate Director of Beer Company Natakhtari declares, that beer sales are increased by 15-18% since the beginning of the year compared to the same period of the last year, but despite the increase in sales, the price of raw materials has fallen due to the depreciation of GEL.
"Sales are growing. Namely, the economic growth that has been observed in the country for the recent months equals to the number of our sales. We have a 15-18% increase since the beginning of the year compared to the same period of the last year, but the cost has reduced or we cannot go beyond the planned value, because the products are more expensive due to the devaluation of GEL. Consequently, we cannot make the product more expensive than inflation. All this is positively reflected in the quantity, but we cannot follow the financial parameters we had in the price", said Nikoloz Khundzakishvili.
Last year was successful for the beer industry in terms of exports. According to the National Statistics Office, more than $ 5 million worth of beer was exported from the country last year, the best figure for recent years.
