In 2021, Belarus' export of merchandise and services rose by 32.5% year-on-year up to $49.261 billion, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In 2021 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $94.751 billion, up by 30.7% year-on-year. Import amounted to $45.489 billion (up by 28.9%). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $3.772 billion, up from $1.898 billion in 2020.
Belarus' merchandise trade expanded by 34.1% to reach $78.838 billion. Merchandise export went up by 37.4% to $39.023 billion, with merchandise import up by 31% to $39.814 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totaled $791.1 million. In 2020 Belarus also had a deficit of $1.993 billion.
In 2021 foreign trade in services reached $15.912 billion, up by 16.3% year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $10.237 billion (up by 16.5%), with import standing at $5.674 billion (up by 15.9%). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $4.563 billion, up from $3.891 billion in 2020.
