Tbilisi Vice Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze announced that infrastructure works for the Betania ski resort are expected to be completed by the end of next year. Speaking at a City Assembly session, he noted that the project is being implemented in coordination with the Mountain Resorts Development Agency, which is providing expertise and contributing to the concept and design phases.
Tkemaladze highlighted that some areas within the project site are privately owned, and active communication with landowners is ongoing. He expressed optimism that all necessary preparations and infrastructure works will be completed by the end of 2026, adding that there is strong interest from the private sector for collaboration.
The Betania ski resort project was announced in September 2025. It includes the installation of a 500-meter ski slope, along with a full renovation of the existing infrastructure to support recreational and winter sports activities.
Located just 18 kilometers from central Tbilisi, Betania first opened a ski slope in early 2012. The initial 30,000-square-meter project, developed with Georgian investment under "Rendez-Vous Betania," featured a 600-meter main slope and a 200-meter slope designed specifically for children.
