Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said ensuring peace and stability remains the country's top foreign and domestic policy priority, speaking at an event in Türkiye. According to the Foreign Ministry, she stressed that Georgia does not consider military means a solution to the conflict stemming from Russia's occupation of 20% of its territory.
Bochorishvili highlighted the long-standing partnership between Georgia and NATO, noting the Alliance's contribution to strengthening Georgia's defense capabilities and recalling the country's significant participation in NATO missions, including Afghanistan, where Georgia was the largest non-member troop contributor.
The minister also said the strategic importance of the South Caucasus and the Black Sea region has increased amid the war in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East. She emphasized the growing role of regional connectivity, including the Middle Corridor, and the strategic partnership between Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan.
Bochorishvili also pointed to hybrid threats, disinformation, and foreign influence as major challenges to stability. She said peace, economic resilience, and continued reforms have underpinned Georgia's recent economic performance, describing the country's growth as among the strongest in Europe.
